I’m currently writing my memoir—a story of heartbreak, healing, faith, and God’s redeeming love. My prayer is that every page reminds readers that no life is beyond restoration.

Some people remember childhood as a time of innocence. I remember learning how to survive.
Freedom Day is the true story of a little girl who learned far too young how to hide fear behind a smile—and the woman she eventually became.
On July 5, 1994, at fourteen years old, I walked away from the home where so much of my pain had begun. I thought leaving meant we were finally free. I didn’t know then that sometimes you can escape a place long before you escape what happened there.
What followed was a life marked by love, loss, brokenness, difficult choices, and unimaginable grief—but also by a God who never stopped pursuing me, even during the years when I didn’t recognize His presence.
Freedom Day isn’t only a story about what happened to me.
It’s a story about what happened after.
About surviving what was meant to destroy you. About breaking cycles you never chose. About discovering that your past may explain parts of your story, but it does not get to write the ending.
This is my story. This is my healing. And this is how I finally learned what it means to be free.
