My precious child,
I know what happened to you hurt.
I know there are wounds that still ache when you remember the words that were spoken, the trust that was broken, or the pain that changed your life forever.
I was there.
I saw every tear.
I heard every cry.
I know the questions you have carried for so long.
You may wonder how you could ever forgive someone who caused so much pain.
Forgiveness is one of the hardest journeys you will ever take.
But hear Me carefully…
Forgiveness does not mean what happened was right.
It does not mean the hurt didn’t matter.
It does not mean you must forget what happened or allow someone to continue hurting you.
Forgiveness means you are choosing to place justice into My hands instead of carrying the weight yourself.
You were never created to live chained to bitterness.
Bitterness slowly steals your joy, your peace, and your hope.
I want more for you than that.
I want freedom.
Just as I have forgiven you, I invite you to forgive others—not because they deserve it, but because I love you too much to let your heart remain imprisoned by the past.
I know you cannot do this on your own.
You don’t have to.
Ask Me for the strength you don’t have.
I will help you take one step at a time.
Some days forgiveness will feel easy.
Other days the hurt may return.
When it does, come back to Me.
Forgiveness is often a choice you make again and again until your heart begins to heal.
Do not mistake forgiveness for weakness.
It takes incredible courage to release what has wounded you.
It takes faith to trust Me with what you cannot fix.
Remember what My Son did on the cross.
Even in unimaginable suffering, He prayed,
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” — Luke 23:34
That kind of forgiveness was born from perfect love.
As you draw closer to Me, I will help your heart become more like His.
Do not let yesterday define the rest of your life.
I have plans for you that are filled with hope.
I can bring beauty from brokenness.
I can heal wounds that seem impossible to heal.
Nothing is beyond My power.
When painful memories return, remember this promise:
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32
And when your heart feels too heavy to let go, remember:
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
Give Me your anger.
Give Me your hurt.
Give Me your disappointment.
Give Me your broken heart.
I can carry what you no longer should.
My child, forgiveness is not the end of your story.
It is the beginning of your freedom.
Walk forward with Me.
I will heal what others tried to destroy.
I will restore what pain has stolen.
And I will never leave your side.
You are deeply loved.
You are never forgotten.
And you are becoming more like Me every step you take in obedience.
Love always,
Your Heavenly Father
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You know the pain I have carried and the wounds that still hurt. Some days forgiveness feels impossible, but today I choose to place my hurt into Your hands.
Help me release bitterness, anger, and the desire for revenge. Give me the strength to forgive as You have forgiven me—not because what happened was acceptable, but because I trust You to bring justice and healing.
Heal the places in my heart that are still broken. Fill me with Your peace, Your wisdom, and Your love.
Teach me to walk in freedom instead of carrying the weight of the past. Thank You for never giving up on me and for patiently restoring my heart.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
